Cline Tours was started in Jackson, MS in 1983 by Johnny Cline. Cline had worked for Trailways for years in various jobs, including their charter sales department. With transportation deregulation taking place in the early 80′s the time was right to start a charter bus company. The company grew from 1 bus to 10 over the next few years. In 1990, after the death of his wife, Cline started reducing the size of the business and in 1996 sold the business to its current owner, John McCommon. McCommon combined the business with his ongoing contract shuttle bus company to begin the new operation. Since 1996, the business has grown from 1 bus to over 100 in 4 locations and over 100 employees.
